Gin is probably the most common. You may be able to find Pan as well (it’s similar to Gin … played in some poker rooms in California). Backgammon isn’t a card game, but it is often played for money.
I would be wary of any partnership games (Spades, Euchre, etc) as it would be rather easy to cheat to telling your partner (via IM, phone, sitting in the next room, etc) what cards you have.
